TRINE VILLARINO
I built the design system from scratch.
The goal was to create one shared foundation across platforms while still allowing individual lottery brands to express their own identity. We structured it around scalable components, shared tokens, and predefined themes. Colour logic was systemised to reduce manual styling and prevent more debt from creeping in.
Alongside building the system, I maintained and evolved features across platforms. I worked on motion graphics and gamification elements, integrating Lottie animations to support feedback, anticipation, and progression in a product built around repetition and excitement.
About halfway through the project, the organisation transitioned further into an agile setup. Our team was embedded closer to the client, working directly alongside product owners, marketing, and stakeholders. This tightened collaboration and accelerated decision-making and the design system became a critical tool for keeping consistency while moving faster.
I translated requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria and worked closely with developers to ensure what we designed was actually buildable. The system wasn’t just a Figma file. It became the backbone of the ecosystem.
